Please note that this is a beta release, so there might be a bug or two. If you come across anything that's not quite working right, or if you have any questions about our new mutual fund screener, let us know by clicking here.

We're Printer Friendly!

January 9, 2008

MAXfunds reader Bill asks:

I am wondering if it is intentional or just accidental that your web pages are nearly impossible to print?

I, for one, sometimes work off-line and it's helpful to be able to spread the paper around in order to be able to see and compare different funds. So, unless it's intentional, please provide a decent print capability. Otherwise, I'll get by with screen shots and just stay annoyed. Thanks for considering the idea."

It was intentional, but we just fired our mean-spirited web designer and are now happy to announce that our mutual fund data pages have been optimized for printing.

You won't see a 'print this page' link, but if you now print any of our data pages, backgrounds colors, ads, sidebars and headers will automatically be removed - and all that will print is the important info itself.
Give it a try.

New 'Best Case' Data Point Now Live

January 1, 2008

The first day of 2008 brings a brand new data point for MAXfunds users.

The 'Best Case' scenario is derived from a fund's previous risk behavior as well as the type of fund in question. The number is our prediction on how much you can expect to gain in percentage terms under ideal market conditions for each mutual fund.

This data point is the companion to our 'Worst Case' number, which is how much you can expect to lose in each fund, in percentage terms, from the top to the bottom – a boom to bust cycle that could span several years or happen very quickly during a sharp market crash.

You'll find the 'Best Case' and 'Worst Case' numbers on each fund's research page, like this one for Dodge & Cox International Stock (DODFX). Enjoy!
